Overview

Miradouro da Senhora do Monte is a free public viewpoint atop Graça hill, the highest point in central Lisbon, offering a roughly 250-degree panorama over the Baixa district, São Jorge Castle and the Tagus (Tejo) estuary. Facing west, it is a favourite spot for watching the sunset and the city lights come on. Beside it stands a small white Baroque chapel (Nossa Senhora do Monte), which is usually closed.

Free entry, open 24/7. Take tram 28E to Rua da Graça, then walk about 400 m (5-10 min) up a steep hill. Best visited early morning for calm, or in winter for a sunset over the Tagus estuary. Confirm fees, hours and chapel opening close to your visit.
