The Seoul Museum of Art (SeMA) Seosomun Main Building is Seoul's flagship municipal art museum, set on a quiet lane beside Deoksugung Palace. It occupies a landmark structure originally built in 1928 as the Gyeongseong Court House and later used as Korea's Supreme Court; the museum opened here in 2002 after preserving the historic Renaissance-style facade and adding a modern gallery block behind it. It combines rotating special exhibitions with a permanent collection, and general/collection displays are usually free.
