Location

Overview

Plaça de Catalunya is the central square where Barcelona's old town (the Gothic Quarter and La Rambla) meets the 19th-century Eixample district. It is the point where La Rambla and the upscale Passeig de Gràcia diverge, and it is known for its fountains, sculptures, the compass rose set into the pavement, and its famous flocks of pigeons. It is also the city's biggest transport hub and a classic meeting place for locals.
