The Palau de la Música Catalana is a Catalan Modernisme concert hall built in 1905–1908 by architect Lluís Domènech i Montaner as home for the Orfeó Català choral society. Its exuberant interior of stained glass, mosaic, sculpture and ironwork earned UNESCO World Heritage status in 1997 (jointly with the Hospital de Sant Pau). It sits in the Sant Pere / El Born quarter of Barcelona's old town, easily paired with the nearby Gothic Quarter.

CautionThe old town (Gothic Quarter, El Born, Sant Pere) and nearby metro stations are among Barcelona's most pickpocket-prone areas. Wear bags in front and keep your phone and wallet out of open pockets.
RulesThe interior can only be entered on a guided tour or self-guided audio-guide visit, and popular slots sell out in peak season and on weekends, so book a specific date and time online in advance (check latest).
