Overview

Villa Borghese is a roughly 80-hectare landscape park just north of Rome's historic center, laid out in 1606 for Cardinal Scipione Borghese. It blends formal gardens, a lake, tree-lined avenues and sculptures, and entry to the park itself is free. Inside are paid attractions including the world-class Galleria Borghese and the Bioparco (Rome Zoo).
