CautionBeware look-alike domains posing as 'official', street sellers and resale sites. Prices can be up to four times the official rate and some tickets are invalid or forged, so buy only via the official uffizi.it or an authorized vendor.
RulesBackpacks, large bags and umbrellas must be left in the free cloakroom before entry; only small bags are allowed in after a security check. Keep your passport, wallet and phone on you rather than in storage.
SeasonEntry is free on the first Sunday of each month, but queues exceed two hours and rooms are packed, making real viewing almost impossible. Skip this day if you want a comfortable visit.

Under-18s enter free year-round. It is quietest right after opening (around 8:15) and busiest from midday to 3 pm.
