The Tempozan Ferris Wheel is a 112.5-metre-tall, 100-metre-diameter giant wheel at Tempozan Harbor Village near the Port of Osaka, opened in 1997 to mark the 100th anniversary of the port. Once the tallest Ferris wheel in the world, a single rotation takes roughly 15 to 17 minutes. It stands right beside the Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, making it easy to combine with an aquarium visit.
On a clear day the top gives panoramic Osaka Bay views: Mount Ikoma to the east, the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge to the west, Kansai International Airport to the south, and the Rokko mountains to the north
Among the 60 cabins, a small number (around 8) are fully transparent see-through cabins offering an open 360-degree view
The wheel's nighttime LED lighting doubles as a weather forecast: orange for sunny, green for cloudy, blue for rain
Walkable to other Harbor Village attractions including Kaiyukan aquarium, Legoland Discovery Center, and the Santa Maria sightseeing cruise

SeasonDuring cherry-blossom season and on holiday evenings, especially around sunset, waits can be longer. Weekdays are generally less crowded than weekends.
RulesThe transparent see-through cabins are few in number; there is no extra charge, but you may have to wait noticeably longer for one.

About a 5-minute walk from Exit 1 of Osakako Station on the Osaka Metro Chuo Line. Fare is roughly 900 yen (age 3 and up; confirm latest), with hours around 10:00-22:00 (last tickets sold 15 minutes before closing; varies by season and day). Convenience-store and online advance tickets are sometimes slightly cheaper. Late afternoon through sunset and the evening city-lights hours offer the best views.
