Osaka Aquarium Kaiyukan, in the Tempozan Harbor Village on Osaka Bay, is one of the world's largest aquariums, home to around 30,000 creatures across roughly 620 species. Its signature layout starts on the 8th floor and spirals downward around a huge central 'Pacific Ocean' tank, whose resident whale sharks are the undisputed star.

RulesFlash photography is prohibited in all exhibits, and specifically banned all day at the seasonal exhibits and the seal tank. Refrain from tripods and selfie sticks; only monopods are partly allowed.
MannersThe central tank gets very crowded around whale shark feeding times. Don't hog a spot for long, and note that live streaming is prohibited even for non-commercial use, out of consideration for other visitors' views.
RulesTimed e-tickets (fixed time slots) are used. Popular slots sell out early; if you buy on arrival, the earliest available slot may be hours later. Book ahead.
SafetyOn weekends and holidays between 11 AM and 3 PM the spiral path bottlenecks badly and you spend more time waiting than watching. Visit right at opening on a weekday or after 4 PM.
CautionBe wary of unofficial resale tickets outside the official site and legitimate platforms like Klook or KKday. Kaiyukan uses demand-based dynamic pricing, so prices vary by date — treat suspiciously cheap listings with caution.

Hours are generally 10:00–20:00 (varying by season/date across roughly six patterns such as 8:00–21:00; last admission is one hour before closing); allow 2–3 hours.
