The Songdo Marine Cable Car (Busan Air Cruise) glides about 1.62 km across the open sea from Songnim Park (Songdo Bay Station) in the east to Amnam Park (Songdo Sky Park) in the west, in Busan's Seo-gu district. Rising to roughly 86 m above the water, the 15–20 minute one-way ride offers sweeping views of Songdo Beach, Yeongdo island, Namhang Bridge and rugged coastal cliffs. First opened in 1964 as Korea's first cable car, it was closed for decades and reopened in June 2017.
Highlights
Choose between the standard 'Air Cruise' cabin (solid floor) and the 'Crystal Cruise' cabin with a transparent reinforced-glass floor (a share of the 39 cabins are glass-floored).
Take in panoramic emerald-sea views up to about 86 m above the water, spanning Songdo Beach, Yeongdo and Namhang Bridge.
The arrival point, Songdo Sky Park, has an ocean terrace and café, a Little Prince–themed Sky Harbor observatory, and a dinosaur-model 'Dino Adventure' photo zone.
Directly below the line you can pair the ride with the Songdo Skywalk (a curved coastal walkway with glass-floor sections) and the Yonggung Suspension Bridge at Amnam Park.
Songdo Beach itself opened in 1913 as Korea's first public bathing beach, with a scenic coastal trail and grilled-shellfish restaurants nearby.
Good to know
SeasonOn weekends, holidays and peak periods (summer and sunset/night slots), Crystal cabins sell out fast and lines get long—booking online in advance is smart.
RulesTicket sales stop 30 minutes before closing, so confirm the (seasonally varying) hours in advance if you're chasing the night view.
SafetyThe Crystal Cruise has a see-through glass floor that can feel intense if you fear heights; the solid-floor Air Cruise cabin is the calmer choice.
SafetyThe linked Skywalk and suspension bridge sit over the sea with glass and steel-grating floors—flat, comfortable shoes are safer than heels.
RulesFor safety, operations can be suspended or closed early in strong wind or bad weather, so check same-day running status before you go.
Practical info
Access from Nampo Station (Line 1) by bus or taxi; the address is 171 Songdo-haebyeon-ro, Seo-gu, Busan (Songdo Bay Station). Fares, hours and parking rules can change—verify the latest before visiting (as a rough guide, Air Cruise round-trip is around KRW 17,000 for adults and Crystal Cruise round-trip around KRW 22,000, with limited free parking for cable-car riders). If Songnim lot is full, use the Namhang or Amnam lots.
