🇪🇸 Royal Palace of Madrid (Palacio Real de Madrid)

Palacio Real de Madrid · 마드리드

Location

Overview

The Royal Palace of Madrid (Palacio Real de Madrid) is Western Europe's largest palace, begun under Philip V on the site of the Alcázar that burned in 1734 and completed between 1738 and 1764; it is said to have more than 3,000 rooms. It is the official residence of the Spanish royal family but is used mainly for state ceremonies rather than as a home, so it can close without notice for official events. The main draw is the sumptuous interior, including the Grand Staircase, the Throne Room and the Royal Armoury.
