Kobe Port Tower is a 108-meter red landmark standing beside Meriken Park on Kobe's harbor waterfront, distinguished by a pipe-lattice frame shaped like a tsuzumi (traditional Japanese hand drum). Completed in 1963, it closed for a major renovation and reopened on April 26, 2024, when its open-air rooftop deck was made accessible to the public for the first time. From the observation floors and rooftop, visitors enjoy 360-degree panoramas of the city, harbor, and the Rokko mountains.
