🇰🇷 Bosu-dong Book Street

Bosu-dong Book Street (보수동책방골목) · 부산광역시

Location

Overview

Bosu-dong Book Street is a maze of narrow alleys in Busan's Jung-gu district lined with secondhand bookstores, and is often described as the last remaining used-book alley of its kind in Korea. It began during the Korean War, when Busan served as the temporary capital and a refugee couple started selling old books from a street stall; it grew as students and intellectuals sought hard-to-find books in lean times. Today it endures as an atmospheric, retro place to browse and stroll.

Practical info

About a 10–11 minute walk from Jagalchi Station (Line 1, Exit 3 or 7); city buses 40 and 81 also stop nearby. Browsing the alley itself is free. There is little dedicated parking, so public transit is recommended. On weekends (Fri–Sun) volunteer cultural guides are usually available. Check current fees, hours and closing days before you go.
