Overview

Tokyo Tower is an iconic red-and-white lattice steel tower in Minato, Tokyo, completed in 1958 and standing about 333 m tall, inspired by the Eiffel Tower. Visitors can take in 360-degree views of Tokyo from two observation decks: the Main Deck at 150 m and the higher, tour-based Top Deck at 250 m. Its five-story base building, Foot Town, houses shops, restaurants, and attractions, and the tower is especially famous for its sunset and nighttime illuminated views.

The nearest station is Akabanebashi (Toei Oedo Line, Akabanebashi Exit), about a 5-minute walk; Onarimon (Toei Mita Line) and Kamiyacho (Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line) are also about 6-7 minutes on foot. Main Deck adult admission is around JPY 1,500, and the Top Deck Tour starts around JPY 3,300 online (a bit more if bought on-site). The tower is generally open from 9:00 to 23:00, but with earlier last-admission times, so check the latest schedule.
