🇯🇵 Nishinomaru Garden (Osaka Castle)

西の丸庭園 · 오사카부 오사카시 주오구

Location

Overview

Nishinomaru Garden is a roughly 6.5-hectare lawn garden on the western side of Osaka Castle Park, opened in 1965 on what is said to be the former residence of Kita no Mandokoro, wife of Toyotomi Hideyoshi. This ticketed garden is famous for its roughly 300 cherry trees (mainly Somei Yoshino), making it one of Osaka's premier springtime hanami spots. Its signature draw is the sweeping view of Osaka Castle's main keep, moat, and stone walls seen across the open lawn.
