🇰🇷 Hwangnidan-gil

皇理團길 · 경북 경주

Location

Overview

Hwangnidan-gil is a roughly 1.5 km street in Hwangnam-dong, Gyeongju, where old hanok alleys have been reborn as stylish cafes, restaurants, and boutiques. The name blends 'Hwangnam-dong' with Seoul's trendy Gyeongnidan-gil; it went viral around 2017 and grew from about 80 shops in 2018 to some 400 by 2023. It sits right beside Silla-era sites like the Daereungwon tombs and Cheomseongdae, making it easy to combine on foot.

Practical info

From Gyeongju Station or the express bus terminal it is about a 10-15 minute taxi ride, with city bus stops nearby. Public parking lots get very congested on weekends, so an early-morning visit helps. Most shops open around 9-10 a.m. and run into the evening, but hours vary by store, so confirm individually. Hanbok rental runs roughly KRW 10,000-30,000; during major holidays hanbok wearers may get free entry to some city-run heritage sites, so verify the latest terms at the time of your visit.
