Overview

Daereungwon is a large tumulus park in the heart of Gyeongju holding 23 tombs of Silla-era kings, queens, and nobles, and it forms part of the UNESCO World Heritage Gyeongju Historic Areas. Its grassy grounds of gently rounded burial mounds make it a beloved in-town stroll, and the highlight is Cheonmachong (Heavenly Horse Tomb), the only mound whose interior is open to visitors.
