🇪🇸 Generalife (Gardens of the Generalife), Alhambra, Granada

Generalife · 그라나다 (Granada)

Location

Overview

The Generalife is the summer palace and gardens of the Nasrid rulers of Granada, set on the hill just east of and above the Alhambra. Built between the late 13th and early 14th centuries and remodeled thereafter, it is famed for the water-filled Patio de la Acequia, the ingenious Water Stairway, and terraced walks lined with cypress and roses, all framing sweeping views of the Alhambra and the city. Since 1984 it has been inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site together with the Alhambra and Albayzín.
