RulesSingapore enforces strict fines. Littering (from ~S$300), smoking outside designated areas, and importing chewing gum are penalized, and vaping is illegal (on-the-spot fine around S$700). Confirm current rules before you go.
MannersNo eating or drinking is allowed inside the cooled conservatories (Flower Dome, Cloud Forest) or on the MRT. Do not touch the plants in indoor displays, and note that tripod photography may be restricted.
SeasonThe equatorial climate is very hot and humid, with sudden downpours common. Carry water, sunscreen and an umbrella; the OCBC Skyway and Observatory may close for safety during rain or lightning, so check on arrival.
SafetyThe site is large and involves a lot of walking, so wear comfortable shoes and stay hydrated, and bring a light layer for the cold air-conditioned domes. The evening light-show slots get very crowded - keep an eye on your belongings and your group.
