🇭🇷 Mount Srđ Cable Car Viewpoint

Vidikovac Srđ (žičara) · 두브로브니크

Location

Overview

This cable car and viewpoint carry visitors to the 412 m summit of Mount Srđ, the ridge rising directly behind Dubrovnik's Old Town. First opened in 1969 as the only cable car on the Adriatic, it was destroyed during the 1991 Siege of Dubrovnik in the Croatian Homeland War and reopened in 2010 after full restoration. From the top you get a sweeping panorama of the walled, red-roofed Old Town, Lokrum island, the Elaphiti archipelago and the blue Adriatic — widely considered Dubrovnik's finest viewpoint. The ride up takes only about four minutes, but pairing it with the Napoleonic-era fortress and war-memorial museum at the summit easily fills half a day.

Practical info

The lower station sits just above the Old Town's northern walls (the Ploče side, on Petra Krešimira IV street) and is reachable on foot from the Buža Gate. Operations run mainly April through November, with late-night service in the summer peak (June–August). Fares and hours change often, so confirm the latest on the official site (adult return roughly €30, one-way about €17, discounts for children 4–12, free under 4 — verify the latest before you go).
