반포대교 달빛무지개분수 (Banpo Bridge Rainbow Fountain) · 서울 서초구
Location
Overview
The Moonlight Rainbow Fountain shoots fan-shaped arcs of water from both sides of Banpo Bridge in Banpo Hangang Park, set to music and colorful LED lighting for one of Seoul's signature night-view spots. Registered by Guinness in 2008 as the world's longest bridge fountain, it spans roughly 1,140 m with 380 nozzles and 200 lights. Watching is free and each show lasts about 20 minutes.
A Guinness-listed, world's-longest-class bridge fountain with water fanning from both sides of Banpo Bridge
The 20:00–20:30 shows are the most popular, mixing sunset glow with the colored lights
The bridge's south end (south side of Banpo Hangang Park) is the prime head-on viewing spot, with lawns for picnic-mat viewing
Pair it with the nearby Some Sevit (Sebitseom) floating islands for extra night views, cafes, and photos
Try the local 'Han River ramen' custom: grab instant noodles and snacks at the park convenience store and eat riverside
Good to know
SeasonThe fountain does not run in winter; it typically operates only from mid-March to end of October (Mar 16–Oct 31, 2026). Outside this window there is no water, so confirm the current operating season before visiting.
RulesShows can be canceled or rescheduled on the day due to strong wind (around 7 m/s or higher), rain, or water quality. Confirm same-day operation via the fountain operations office (02-3780-0578~9) or the official Hangang authority notice.
SafetySummer weekend evenings draw thousands and get very crowded. Watch for pickpockets and lost belongings, mind your footing on dark riverside steps and slopes, and keep children close.
MannersAfter a picnic, take your trash to the designated bins or carry it out. The park stays clean because visitors self-manage waste, so avoid littering.
SeasonMosquitoes are common by the river in summer, so bring repellent; the noon (12:00) show also means midday heat and sun exposure, so carry water and seek shade.
