Overview

The Yokohama Red Brick Warehouse consists of two Meiji-era former customs warehouses (built around 1911-1913) and is an iconic landmark of Yokohama's Minato Mirai waterfront. Reborn as a cultural and commercial complex in 2002, it closed for its first-ever major renovation and reopened on December 6, 2022. Building No. 1 holds galleries, an event hall and a history exhibition space, while the larger Building No. 2 houses around 66 shops, restaurants and a food court.

Practical info

About a 6-minute walk from Bashamichi or Nihon-Odori Station on the Minatomirai Line, or about 15 minutes on foot from Sakuragicho or Kannai Station (JR/subway) via Kishamichi. On-site parking (P1: 83 cars, P2: 96 cars) is 500 yen for the first hour, then 250 yen per 30 min, but crowds are heavy on weekends. Confirm fees and hours for the latest.
