Yadori Beach sits at the southernmost tip of Amami Oshima, in Setouchi Town, Kagoshima, tucked inside the Oshima Strait where Kakeroma Island across the water blocks the swell β the result is a calm, gently sloping stretch of white sand that beginners and families can wade straight into. A short swim out reveals patches of coral crowded with tropical fish such as clownfish, and the beach is a known sea turtle nesting site, so encounters with turtles while swimming are fairly common. Depth runs shallow at roughly 1-3m with 10-18m visibility, and water sits around 26-29Β°C in July, making conditions comfortable for snorkeling. As of July 2026 it's still an unresorted, low-key local beach with no large commercial operators, so it stays quieter than Amami's more crowded snorkel spots even in peak season.
