Location

Overview

Wing Beach, also known as Wing Cove, sits on Saipan's remote northeastern coastline just past the shuttered Mariana Resort north of Garapan. It's known among the island's snorkel and dive community for a dramatic underwater landscape β€” a massive coral tower rising beside a 90-foot sea cliff, split by a narrow, deep notch-like crevasse β€” in one of Saipan's least-visited and most pristine stretches of reef. In clear water (roughly 20-30m visibility) at depths of 2-8m near shore, you can spot moray eels, octopus, and lionfish, with occasional Napoleon wrasse or eagle rays passing through. As of mid-2026 it remains an undeveloped site with zero facilities, and its rip currents and rough access track make it better suited to confident, experienced snorkelers or those going with a guide rather than first-timers.

Practical info

It's about a 20-30 minute drive from Saipan International Airport, past the old Mariana Resort site, along a rough unpaved track to a shore-entry point β€” there are no facilities of any kind (no restroom, no fresh water), so bring everything you'll need. Road conditions, access, and any local tour options can change, so confirm current details before you go.
