RulesYou must cover shoulders and knees to enter. Sleeveless tops, shorts, miniskirts and see-through clothing may be refused. Hats and sunglasses must come off inside worship halls. Shawls can be borrowed or bought at the gate if needed.

MannersDon't point your fingers or feet at Buddha images, don't turn your back to them, and don't stand higher than a statue. Keep quiet in worship areas, silence your phone, and never touch a monk (women especially).
CautionIgnore anyone claiming the temple is 'closed today' or holding a 'special ceremony' who offers to take you elsewhere — it's a scam. The Grand Palace and Wat Pho do not close without notice. Walk directly to the official ticket counter and verify (check current hours).
CautionBeware the tuk-tuk/gem scam pitched as a 'government gem sale' or 'one-day export deal.' Cheap tuk-tuk 'tours' (e.g. 40 baht) usually detour to commission shops. Use the Grab app for reliable transport instead.
SeasonArrive before 10am, before the tour buses, or around 4pm for fewer crowds. Bangkok is hot and humid year-round, so bring water, a hat and sun protection — but remove the hat inside worship halls.
