Vichy, in France's Auvergne region, is a Belle Époque spa town developed under Napoleon III into Europe's premier thermal resort. It draws on several mineral springs, including the Source des Célestins, and Vichy mineral water is bottled and sold worldwide. Thermal parks and ornate 19th-century bathhouses line the banks of the Allier River. Today, facilities in town still offer thermal cure treatments (cure thermale).
