🇨🇭 Via Alpina Red Trail – Lauterbrunnen Valley

Lauterbrunnen Valley (Via Alpina Red Trail) · 스위스 베른주 융프라우 지역

Location

Overview

Via Alpina consists of five color-coded trails totaling roughly 5,000km across eight Alpine countries, and its Red Trail - about 2,500km over 161 stages from Trieste, Italy to Monaco - is the longest and most complete route. The Lauterbrunnen valley is a glacially carved U-shaped trough holding 72 waterfalls, the best known being the roughly 297m Staubbach Falls. The car-free villages of Wengen and Mürren, reachable only by cable car or train, sit on shelves above the valley, and trails above it give close views of the Eiger's north face, the Mönch, and the Jungfrau.
