Location

Overview

The Tour of Monte Rosa circles the Monte Rosa massif (4,634m), the second-highest in the Alps after Mont Blanc, across Italy and Switzerland over roughly 10 days, passing through Walser German-speaking villages settled since the 13th century such as Alagna Valsesia and Gressoney. Passes such as Colle del Turlo (2,738m) offer close views of Monte Rosa's east face, and the route also connects toward Zermatt and Saas-Fee. It is more technically demanding than the Tour du Mont Blanc, with some stages crossing glaciated terrain that requires crampons.
