SafetyRunning up or down the steep 'Umanose' slope, or overexerting in strong wind, can cause falls and injuries; if you collapse within the dunes, ambulances take a long time to reach you across the sand. Don't overdo it.
RulesDrawing or writing 'sand graffiti' is banned by local ordinance and can incur a fine of up to ¥50,000; taking sand away is also prohibited.
