This trek follows one of the world's deepest gorges, carved by the Jinsha River (upper Yangtze) between Yulong Snow Mountain and Haba Snow Mountain. The elevation difference between the riverbed and the flanking peaks reaches about 3,900m, giving a visceral sense of the gorge's scale. The traditional two-day High Trail, which includes the switchbacking section known as the 28 Bends, is walked while staying at Naxi-run guesthouses along the way.
