🇲🇵 Taga Beach

Taga Beach · 티니안 산호세

Location

Overview

Taga Beach is Tinian's largest white-sand beach, on the island's southwest coast at San Jose village, right beside the ancient latte-stone pillars of the House of Taga. Its shallow, calm reef makes it the island's classic beginner-friendly snorkel spot, with 1-5m depths and 15-25m visibility revealing colorful reef fish and coral in warm, 28-30C water year-round. As of mid-2026 it remains an undeveloped, unmanned public beach rather than a resort strip, which suits travelers who want an uncrowded, almost private snorkel outing paired with a genuine archaeological site.

Practical info

It's roughly a 10-15 minute drive from Tinian International Airport, with free parking right at the beach entry near San Jose village. Snorkel gear rental and tours are typically arranged nearby at Tachonga Beach, though availability and hours change often, so confirm locally before you go - and aim for a morning visit to beat the afternoon crowds.
