Taejongdae (太宗臺) is a scenic coastal cliff park on the southern tip of Yeongdo Island in Busan and a flagship site of the Busan National Geopark. Named after Silla-era King Taejong Muyeol, who is said to have practiced archery here, it is famous for dramatic rock cliffs, dense pine forest, and sweeping views of the open sea. On clear days you can even glimpse Japan's Tsushima Island in the distance.

SafetyThe coastal cliff sections are steep; stepping past railings onto the bare rocks is extremely dangerous. Stay on the designated decks and trails.
SafetyStone steps and rocks become very slippery in rain, dew, or sea fog. Wear non-slip shoes and take care.
SeasonDuring summer typhoons or high winds, cruise-boat operations and some paths may be closed. Check current operating status before you go.
RulesThe Danubi Train is usually closed on Mondays (but runs if the Monday is a public/substitute holiday), and hours and fares differ by peak vs. off-peak season. Confirm the latest schedule before visiting.
SafetyThe observatory area has a history of accidents; always heed the warning signs and staff guidance.
Practical info
Park entry is free; the Danubi Train is paid (adult round-trip fare and hours vary by peak/off-peak season, so check the latest). You can walk the loop road, but it is quite hilly, so the train is convenient. From Nampo Station (Subway Line 1), take bus 8, 30, 88, 186, etc. to the Taejongdae stop. A half-day is a good amount of time.
