Shenzhen Talent Park (深圳人才公园), opened in November 2017, is China's first municipal park themed on "talent," covering about 770,000 sqm in Nanshan District, of which roughly 300,000 sqm is an artificial lake. It sits beside the Shenzhen Bay Super Headquarters Base, so the lake mirrors the whole skyline — the China Resources tower, Shenzhen Bay Sports Center and neighbouring highrises — which is what made it a night-view landmark. As of 2026 it remains free and requires no booking, with a light show projected across the surrounding towers on Friday and Saturday evenings and public holidays. Treat it as a local's evening walk rather than a ticketed sight: arrive around sunset and give it one to two hours through dusk.
Starlight Bridge (星光桥) — light columns along the bridge carry portraits and profiles of 30 figures who shaped Shenzhen, including Yuan Geng and Ma Huateng, and they glow one by one after dark.
Pi Bridge (π桥) — a 171-metre bridge whose railings are engraved with 2,017 digits of pi, a nod to the park's 2017 opening and to open-ended inquiry.
The lake reflection of the Shenzhen Bay skyline — the ~300,000 sqm water surface doubles the surrounding towers and is the park's best photo line.
Qiuxian Pavilion (求贤阁) and Qunyinghui (群英荟) — the park's two main buildings, housing an academicians' lecture hall and a talent book café, plus a maker space and a talent experience hall, so the "talent" theme is literal rather than decorative.
Themed sculptures — an "IT person" piece that reads as the digits 0 and 1 once combined with its reflection, a Monkey King figure and a rearing horse, scattered along the walking loops as metaphors for innovation.

RulesVisa: holders of ordinary passports from South Korea and dozens of other countries can enter visa-free for up to 30 days through 31 December 2026 for tourism, business, family visits or transit. Policies change often, so confirm your own nationality's status with a Chinese embassy before departure.
RulesTemporary accommodation registration is mandatory. Hotels file it for you at check-in, but if you stay in a private home or an informal rental you must register at the local police station within 24 hours of arrival or risk a fine.
CautionThe park is completely free and unticketed. Anyone charging admission, a "photo fee" or a premium viewing spot is running a scam. Skip unlicensed cabs touting outside Houhai station and use Didi or a metered taxi.
SafetyCash is barely usable in Shenzhen. Link an overseas Visa, Mastercard or UnionPay card to Alipay or WeChat Pay before you travel; both apps also generate the QR ride code used on the metro and buses, and small transactions carry little or no fee.
SafetyGoogle, Instagram, KakaoTalk and similar services are blocked on mainland networks. International roaming or a travel eSIM routes your traffic outside China and normally keeps them working, which is simpler and safer than buying a local SIM. Do not plan on installing an unapproved VPN once you are in the country.
SeasonJuly to September is hot, humid and inside typhoon season. City parks can be closed under typhoon or heavy-rain warnings, and the light show is suspended in rain. Shade is limited along the lake, so bring water and sun cover and aim for late afternoon.
MannersThis is an everyday neighbourhood park, not a tourist site. Runners and cyclists share the paths, so do not block them for photos, and stay out of the lake — no swimming or fishing. Drone flying in China requires real-name registration and airspace clearance and this area may be restricted, so do not launch one casually.
Practical info
Take Metro Line 2 or 11 to Houhai Station (Exit H, about 1.2 km to the north gate) or Line 2 to Dengliang Station (Exit C, about 1 km to the west gate); the nearest bus stop is Liuhuashan Park. Entry is free with no reservation, the park is generally listed as open 06:00–23:00 (Qiuxian Pavilion 08:30–22:00), and the light show runs Friday, Saturday and public holiday evenings (summer 19:30/20:30/21:30, winter 19:00/20:00/21:00) but is cancelled in rain and on certain dates — check the latest schedule right before you go, and note that the car park requires advance booking via the "美丽深圳" WeChat account.
