🇰🇷 Seonyudo Park

선유도공원 (Seonyudo Park) · 서울 영등포구

Location

Overview

Seonyudo Park is Korea's first environmental-reclamation ecological park, built on a small island in the Han River by repurposing a former water-filtration plant that operated from 1978 to 2000; it opened as a park in 2002. Themed around 'water,' it keeps the old concrete filtration structures and reworks them into gardens like the Garden of Green Columns, the water-purification garden, and an aquatic botanical garden, blending nature with industrial heritage. Free to enter, it is a beloved spot for picnics, riverside strolls, and night views.
