SeasonDuring Golden Week and Chinese New Year the square becomes extremely crowded, slowing movement and raising petty-theft risk. Visit early morning or on weekdays if you can.

Currency is the pataca (MOP), but Hong Kong dollars are widely accepted (pegged rate HK$1 ≈ MOP1.03; change often given in patacas).
