Location

Overview

The Secret Lagoon (locally known as Gamla Laugin) in the village of Flúðir, on southern Iceland's Golden Circle route, is Iceland's oldest swimming pool, built in 1891. It's a modest stone-lined lagoon fed by natural hot spring runoff, kept at 38-40°C. Right next to the lagoon, a small geyser called Litli Geysir erupts every few minutes. Smaller and more rustic than the Blue Lagoon, it feels less commercial and retains more of a local character.
