🇩🇪 Regensburg Cathedral

Regensburger Dom (St. Peter) · 레겐스부르크

Location

Overview

Regensburg Cathedral (St Peter's Cathedral) is Bavaria's only true Gothic cathedral and the landmark at the heart of the medieval old town on the Danube, itself a UNESCO World Heritage Site. It is renowned for one of the largest collections of medieval stained glass in the German-speaking world and for its famous 'Laughing Angel' sculpture, and it is home to the Regensburger Domspatzen, the world's oldest boys' choir, with roots in the 970s. In 2026 it remains a living, working church where Mass is celebrated; entry is free and visitors are asked to explore quietly outside service times.
