🇳🇿 Rakiura Track

Rakiura Track · 뉴질랜드 스튜어트섬 (라키우라 국립공원)

Location

Overview

This 32km loop begins at the village of Oban on Stewart Island (Māori: Rakiura), New Zealand's southernmost island, and is one of the shortest and most accessible of the Great Walks. Thanks to the island's low population density and near-absence of light pollution, the odds of spotting wild kiwi here are among the best in New Zealand, and the island sees more rainy days year-round than most other Great Walks. A 3-day itinerary is typical, passing through pristine rimu and rātā rainforest.
