A chain of eight natural hot spring pools formed along the Puritama Canyon in the Atacama Desert at roughly 3,400m elevation. Volcanic geothermal water flows down the canyon floor forming terraced pools with temperatures around 30-33°C, a striking contrast to the desert's extreme day-night temperature swings. The site sits about 30km north of San Pedro de Atacama and is managed as a protected private reserve.
