🇺🇸 Presidential Traverse

Presidential Traverse · 미국 뉴햄프셔주 화이트마운틴

Location

Overview

The Presidential Traverse crosses the Presidential Range in New Hampshire's White Mountain National Forest, one of the most demanding ridge traverses in the northeastern United States, tackling 8–9 peaks named after U.S. presidents — including Mount Washington (1,917 m) — in a single day or an overnight trip. Depending on the route chosen, total distance runs about 32–38 km with over 2,700 m of cumulative elevation gain. Mount Washington's summit recorded a surface wind gust of 372 km/h (231 mph) in 1934, once the world record, earning it a reputation for 'the world's worst weather.'
