🇫🇷 Port-Cros National Park

Parc national de Port-Cros · 프랑스 코트다쥐르 이에르 제도

Location

Overview

Established in 1963, this was Europe's first marine national park, protecting the waters around Île de Port-Cros in France's Hyères archipelago on the Côte d'Azur. It features an underwater trail marked with signage for snorkelers, and it preserves extensive beds of Posidonia oceanica, a seagrass endemic to the Mediterranean. More than six decades of a total ban on fishing and spearfishing have made large groupers and other Mediterranean species relatively easy to spot.
