🇮🇩 Pink Beach (Pantai Merah), Komodo

Pantai Merah, Taman Nasional Komodo · 인도네시아 동누사틍가라 코모도 국립공원

Location

Overview

Pink Beach (Pantai Merah), inside Komodo National Park, gets its blush colour from red coral fragments and microscopic foraminifera shells mixed into the white sand. Wade in just a few metres and a shallow coral garden opens up right off the sand; the water is clear and the depth stays low (roughly 1–6 m), which makes it one of the park's most beginner-friendly snorkel spots. From the surface you can already pick out anemones with clownfish and schools of angelfish, parrotfish and butterflyfish, and most day trips pair it with nearby manta and sea-turtle stops. In 2026 it remains a headline stop on boat tours out of Labuan Bajo.

Practical info

Reach Pink Beach by boat day trip or liveaboard from Labuan Bajo — around 3+ hours on a regular boat, faster by speedboat. The draw is shallow beach-entry coral, but access may be limited to protect the reef, so follow your operator's guidance. Komodo National Park entry and marine-area fees are paid separately on site; amounts, hours and rules change often, so confirm the latest details before booking.
