Location

Overview

Phi Phi Don is the largest island in Thailand's Phi Phi archipelago, in the Andaman Sea about 40 km south of Phuket and Krabi. Its gateway, Ton Sai Bay, is the pier where ferries and speedboats arrive and the island's main village, a car-free maze of pedestrian lanes packed with restaurants, bars and shops. By day it's known for snorkeling and viewpoint hikes; by night for the beach parties of nearby Loh Dalum Bay.

Practical info

Reach the island by ferry or speedboat from Phuket's Rassada Pier or from Krabi, about 1.5-2 hours one way. There are no roads, so you get around on foot or by longtail boat. Fees, schedules and national park rules change, so confirm the latest details before you go.
