The waters off Panagsama Beach in Moalboal, in the southwest of Cebu, Philippines, are famous for a massive sardine run in which millions of fish form dense schools along the reef wall. Unlike most sardine runs, which are seasonal, this one can be seen year-round, and predators such as thresher sharks occasionally show up to hunt the baitball. Nearby Pescador Island is a protected marine sanctuary with a vertical wall dive site.
