🇬🇷 Agios Prokopios Beach, Naxos

Παραλία Αγίου Προκοπίου · 낙소스

Location

Overview

Agios Prokopios is the largest and most popular beach on Naxos, the biggest of the Cyclades, lying about 5 km southwest of Naxos Town (Chora). It is famous for its 1.5–2 km stretch of golden sand and shallow, crystal-clear turquoise water that stays calm — ideal for families and beginner swimmers. As of 2026 the beach splits into two moods: a southern strip lined with beach bars and sunbeds in a European beach-club style, and a quieter, mostly free public stretch to the northwest.

Practical info

From the port bus terminal in Chora (Naxos Town), KTEL Line 1 (also Line 10) reaches the beach in about 15 minutes, running roughly every 30 minutes in summer until late night (01:00–02:00). The stop is close to the sand and using the public stretch is free. Fares, schedules and sunbed prices change seasonally, so always check the latest information.
