🇰🇷 National Hangeul Museum

국립한글박물관 (National Hangeul Museum) · 서울 용산구

Location

Overview

The National Hangeul Museum in Seoul's Yongsan District is a national museum dedicated to the history and value of Hangeul, Korea's alphabet, and opened in 2014 next to the National Museum of Korea. However, it has been closed since October 2024 for expansion work, and a fire on February 1, 2025 damaged its 3rd and 4th floors and children's Hangeul playground, pushing its reopening back to a target of October 2028 (please verify the latest status). Anyone planning a visit should first confirm that on-site viewing is currently unavailable.
