Location

Overview

At 4,095m, Mount Kinabalu is the highest peak between the Himalayas and New Guinea and a UNESCO World Heritage Site, an iconic mountain of Borneo. A climbing permit and an accompanying certified guide are mandatory, and daily climber numbers are capped, so advance booking is essential. The standard itinerary is a two-day climb with an overnight at Laban Rata hut (3,272m) before a pre-dawn push to Low's Peak for sunrise.
