🇪🇸 Mijas Pueblo

Mijas Pueblo · 말라가 (Málaga)

Location

Overview

Mijas Pueblo is a quintessential 'white village' (pueblo blanco) perched on the slopes of the Sierra de Mijas on Spain's Costa del Sol, about 30 km from Málaga. Whitewashed houses, narrow cobbled lanes draped with flower pots, and viewpoints overlooking the Mediterranean make it one of Andalusia's most photogenic towns. It's a popular half-day or day trip from Málaga and Fuengirola.

Practical info

By public transport from Málaga, the easiest route is the RENFE cercanías train to Fuengirola, then the M-122 bus up to Mijas (about EUR 1.55, roughly hourly). The direct M-112 bus from Málaga runs very infrequently. Half a day covers the highlights, so you can pair it with a beach afternoon at La Cala de Mijas or Calahonda for a 'village + beach' day. Fees, hours and rules change - verify the latest before you go.
