Mihama American Village is a large seaside resort-style shopping and entertainment town in Mihama, Chatan Town, in central Okinawa Island, built on redeveloped former U.S. military land to evoke an American West Coast vibe. Located about 15 km north of Naha, it mixes colorful buildings, wall art, and a waterfront promenade, so you can shop by day and catch sunsets and illuminations at night. With roughly 190 shops, restaurants, cafes, a cinema, and hotels, it is one of the most popular stops on an Okinawa trip.
Depot Island, the central district with 100+ shops and restaurants, is full of photo spots such as the retro FDDI fire-truck mural, a classic American car monument, and a shark sculpture bursting from a wall.
It connects directly to Chatan Park Sunset Beach next door, letting you combine one of Okinawa's best sunsets with a seaside stroll.

SeasonThe adjacent Sunset Beach swimming season runs roughly mid-April to October 31. A habu (box jellyfish) advisory is issued from June to September, so swim only inside the netted area during lifeguard hours.
