Location

Overview

Lijiang Old Town (Dayan) is an 800-year-old Naxi settlement in northwest Yunnan, sitting at roughly 2,400 m altitude and inscribed on UNESCO's World Heritage list in 1997. Its draw is a maze of cobbled lanes threaded with canals and stone bridges, the central Sifang Street square, and Naxi culture centered on the Mu's Residence. The town shifts character through the day: quiet, atmospheric mornings versus lantern-lit streets, bars and cafes at night.
