Levi is Finland's largest and most popular ski and fell resort, set on the Levitunturi fell in the village of Sirkka, Kittilä municipality, in Finnish Lapland. SeasonThe aurora and the midnight sun occur in opposite seasons. The northern lights appear only in the dark months (late August–April, best September–March, roughly 8pm–1am), while the bright midnight sun of May–July makes them invisible. SafetyMidwinter temperatures can fall to −20 to −30 °C. Dress in layers (base, mid, windproof shell) with thick gloves, hat and boots, and watch for frostbite. Aurora tours involve long waits outdoors in remote spots, so bring hand warmers and spare warm clothing.
